Rarely are we excited for winter to come. Days are short and sunlight is scarce, and it's tough to get out of bed in the morning when it's still dark out! The winter solstice, which usually falls on December 22 or 21 (and occasionally but rarely on December 23) is the shortest day of the year. Like bears, we tend to "hibernate" during this time and stay cozy indoors!
Consumption is at an all-time high as well: gifts for the holidays, gourmet food at all our parties, and tempting store windows for treats for ourselves. Enjoy it while you can, because the new year will bring lots of resolutions - like saving money and eating less!
So how do we get through another long and dreary winter? Here are some fun tips:
- Drink hot chocolate. This simple pleasure is always cozy and warms you up.
- Gather round a fire. Don't have one? Hook your laptop up to your TV and play this video of a fire burning. You can cozy up under a blanket on the couch and tell stories from years past.
- Start a new project. Always wanted to learn how to knit? Been meaning to set up your own indoor herb garden? Do it now! By spring you'll be reaping the benefits of your work.
- Play outside. Yeah it's cold but this is your only chance to build a snowmen or win a snowball fight. Throw on a hat and gloves and make an afternoon of it!
And of course, you can spread some wintry cheer with one of our winter ecards!

I love your cards and have been using them for several years. However, I am struggling with your new format. It will NOT allow me to post cards to facebook; nor to send a card by email to more than one person at a time. Please help.

I agree with your idea that we hibernate like bears, I have been saying that for years but people don't believe me :-)

Hi Christine! Sorry to hear our ecards aren't working for you. I'll send you an email and we can work out the technical issues. We'd love for you to be able to send cards!
Thanks,
